Plans for a 42 storey tower approved

City and Docklands have received planning approval from the London Borough of Ealing for a 42 storey tower as part of the redevelopment of the Portal West Business Centre in North Acton.

The development, designed by BUJ Architects, will provide 578 apartments and commercial office space as well as public courtyards and outdoor community play space in a development of 4 buildings over a basement car park. The development is close to North Acton Station and BUJ’s proposals improve connectivity with a new landscaped courtyard linking the train station and the town.

Manhire Associates worked closely with BUJ Architects to develop proposals for the tower and buildings generally that are refined and crisp. As well as advising on the form of the buildings, Manhire Associates developed a drainage strategy for the development and advised on Flood Risk. The team also worked with MetropolisGreen on the Environmental Impact Assessment for the development.
