Leman Locke Annexe given the go ahead!
A Public Enquiry took place in November last year over 6 days following London Borough of Tower Hamlets refusal of the Planning Application for the re-development of the site in October 2017.
GL Hearn’s successful Appeal Strategy involved demonstrating that the impact on residential amenity was not only acceptable, but normal in an area designated for high density development with many tall buildings in the vicinity, including the 23 storey development over Aldgate East Tube Station engineered by Manhire Associates in 2007.
Leman Locke opened on Leman Street in Aldgate in October 2016, and residents of the 102 studio & two-bed apartment development on Buckle Street will share facilities with the neighbouring Leman Locke. The Locke brand was created for travellers wanting a unique and authentic experience wherever they are, the Leman Locke Annex will combine the best aspects of boutique hotels and serviced apartments for today’s business traveller.
The top of the building, designed by Grzywinski+Pons Architects is clad in glass blocks with the lower floors clad in ‘zero brick’.
Manhire Associates are delighted that the Saco development is going ahead after working on initial proposals for the 13 storey building in 2015.
