We work with a range of materials and as well as designing buildings in steel, concrete, timber and masonry, we work with alloys, glass, stone and various composite materials.

Whilst the car and boat-building industries have been developing the use of composites for some time, the building industry is now seeing more and more composite materials being used to clad buildings as well as in external applications.

Understanding how materials behave is fundamental in developing building applications for products and we regularly review developments in materials science in other industries.
